Helifix Crack Stitching
Helical crack stitching is a highly effective, non-disruptive method used to permanently repair and stabilize cracked masonry walls.
Older buildings can be susceptible to movement over time due to settlement or structural issues. Cracking can commonly be seen around door and window heads where arches or lintels have moved over time. Helifix stitching will repair the symptoms of the crack but not necessarily the cause if it is due to ongoing structural defects.
Helifix stitching is a method that involves installing stainless steel helibars deep into the masonry joints. These are embedded horizontally and fixed in place using polyester resin. They allow some normal building movement while improving tensile strength and are much less disruptive than rebuilding.
